On a hillside overlooking famous Flamingo Beach with stunning views of Pacific Ocean sunsets, Mar y Sol is a full service restaurant offering fine dining, casual lounge atmosphere, and off-site catering.
We offer two venues for your dining pleasure: our tropical fine dining restaurant downstairs graced with Guanacaste exotic wood accents, wild sugar cane and palm fronds, and upstairs is our contemporary panoramic ocean view lounge, and open air feel. Our Costa Rica ingredient-based, international menu is available in either venue. Or visit both: come up to the lounge for drinks at sunset, then down to the fine dining restaurant for dinner, a well-known tradition at Mar y Sol.
Named in the top ten restaurants of Costa Rica by the Sibarita Guide, our excellent cuisine and first rate service are well known throughout the area. The Taulere family founded Mar y Sol in 2004, and Chef Jean-Luc carries on as an 8th generation chef.
